Hello. I’m Itai.
I was born June 11th, 1985 in Israel. I’ve lived in Israel (in a town called Ra’anana) for most of my life. I did live three years in the states (Fair Lawn, New Jersey) when I was a kid.
At about the age of 18 I discovered comics. I always knew about comics, but I never actually read them. I would mess around with comic peripherals – TV cartoons (the 90’s Spider-Man was my favorite), movies, computer games, etc. I didn’t even know there were stores that exclusively sold comics in Israel (it’s a small country). I was officially introduced to them when I joined the army, and I was instantly hooked. I started reading like a madman, gobbling up everything I can get my hands on.
Writing, however, is something I’ve been doing since forever. I remember my first “published” piece was in the third grade, where I wrote a little poem that made its way into the school paper. I’ve been writing pretty much non-stop since then, though not always on paper. Most of my writing in the early years was done in my head, where I would make up stories and play pretend with friends and my brothers. Since then, I’ve evolved and started actually putting my ideas on paper (and the ideas are no longer cheap knock-offs of stuff I saw on TV).
Well, this is me, in a nut-shell. I write, and I’m pretty fond of comics (to put it mildly). My dream, therefore, would be to write comics for a living. Something I will achieve. Amazing Spider-Man, by Itai Rosenbaum. It’ll happen.
